1. SERVICE DEFINITION
1.1 What ARGUS Is
ARGUS is a global intelligence aggregation and visualization platform that provides users with access to:
- Real-time geopolitical event feeds (GDELT and other sources)
- Energy market data and analytics
- Supply chain intelligence and risk indicators
- AI-powered query engine (Pro tier only)
- Interactive globe visualization and mapping tools
1.2 What ARGUS Is Not
- A source of real-time, guaranteed accurate intelligence
- A provider of financial, legal, or operational advice
- Suitable for emergency response or time-critical decision-making
- A verified or certified intelligence service
- A replacement for professional analysis or judgment
1.3 Informational Purpose — No Financial or Investment Advice
Nothing on this platform constitutes, or should be construed as:
- Investment advice, financial advice, or trading advice of any kind
- A recommendation or solicitation to buy, sell, hold, or otherwise transact in any security, commodity, currency, or financial instrument
- An offer or invitation to make any investment or business decision
- A substitute for professional judgment from a licensed financial advisor, attorney, or other qualified professional
By using ARGUS, you acknowledge that you bear sole responsibility for any investment, business, or operational decisions made based on information viewed on this platform.
2. ACCEPTABLE USE
2.1 Permitted Use
You may use ARGUS for:
- Research and analysis purposes
- Internal business intelligence gathering
- Educational and informational purposes
- Supply chain risk assessment
2.2 Prohibited Activities
You may NOT:
- Scrape, crawl, or systematically download data from the platform
- Resell, redistribute, or sublicense ARGUS data or access
- Use the platform for illegal activities or to violate any laws
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code
- Share your account credentials with others
- Attempt to bypass access controls or authentication mechanisms
- Use the platform to harass, harm, or discriminate against individuals or groups
- Overload or interfere with platform infrastructure
3. ACCOUNT TERMS
3.1 Account Creation
To access certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete registration information
- Maintain the security of your password and account
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use
- Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
3.2 Account Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if:
- You violate these Terms
- Your use poses security or legal risks
- Your payment fails or subscription lapses
- We discontinue the service (with notice)
4. SUBSCRIPTIONS AND BILLING
4.1 Subscription Plans
ARGUS offers the following access tiers. Current pricing is listed on the Pricing page and is subject to change with notice.
- Viewer (Free): Limited access to globe, live event feeds, market data, and geopolitical markers. No payment required.
- ArgusIntel Pro ($9/month): Full platform access including the AI intelligence query engine, community intel submission, analysis lab, and all Pro features. Billed monthly via Stripe.
4.2 Billing
- Pro subscriptions are billed monthly at $9.00 USD per billing cycle
- Billing begins on the date of initial subscription and recurs monthly on that date
- Payment is processed via Stripe — we do not store your card details
- Subscriptions auto-renew each month unless canceled before the renewal date
- Price changes will be communicated at least 30 days in advance via email or platform notice
- Failed payments may result in immediate suspension of Pro features until resolved
4.3 Feature Access & Gating
Certain features are exclusively available to ArgusIntel Pro subscribers. These include but are not limited to:
- AI intelligence query engine
- Community intel submission
- Analysis lab
- Global briefing feed
We reserve the right to adjust which features are included in each tier with reasonable notice.
4.4 Refund Policy
All sales are generally final. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods or unused subscription time. Exceptions may be made at our sole discretion in cases of:
- Verifiable billing errors
- Duplicate charges
- Situations where applicable law requires a refund
To request a refund consideration, contact us within 7 days of the charge in question.
4.5 Cancellation
You may cancel your Pro subscription at any time through the Stripe customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain Pro access until that date. No partial-month credits are issued upon cancellation.
5. DATA & CONTENT
5.1 Data Sources
ARGUS aggregates data from multiple third-party sources including but not limited to:
- GDELT Project (geopolitical events)
- ACLED (armed conflict and event data)
- GDACS (global disaster alerts)
- NOAA / National Weather Service (weather alerts, tropical storms)
- NASA EONET (Earth Observatory natural events)
- UN Comtrade (bilateral trade statistics)
- UN ReliefWeb (humanitarian operations)
- EIA and FRED (energy and macroeconomic indicators)
- OpenSky Network and ADS-B providers (flight tracking)
- Maritime AIS tracking providers (vessel tracking)
- Other publicly available datasets
Each third-party source operates under its own data policies, accuracy standards, and terms of use. ARGUS makes no representations regarding the completeness or reliability of data from any individual source.
5.2 Data Accuracy Disclaimer
Users should independently verify any information before making decisions based on it.
5.3 User-Generated Content
If you submit queries, feedback, or other content to ARGUS:
- You retain ownership of your content
- You grant us a license to use it to improve the platform
- You represent that you have the right to submit such content
6. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
6.1 Platform Ownership
ARGUS, including all software, design, code, and branding, is owned by us and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the platform without permission.
6.2 Limited License
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use ARGUS for your personal or internal business purposes, subject to these Terms.
7. LIABILITY LIMITATION
7.1 No Liability for Decisions
ARGUS is an informational tool only. We are NOT liable for any decisions, actions, or consequences resulting from your use of the platform or reliance on any data displayed. This includes but is not limited to:
- Financial losses
- Operational disruptions
- Missed opportunities
- Business decisions based on platform data
7.2 Maximum Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claims arising from your use of ARGUS is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
7.3 No Consequential Damages
We are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or reliance on any information provided through the platform, including lost profits, lost data, loss of opportunity, or business interruption.
7.4 As-Is Service
ARGUS is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
8. INDEMNIFICATION
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless ARGUS, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:
- Your use of the platform
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any third-party rights
- Your misuse of platform data
9. MODIFICATIONS TO TERMS
9.1 Right to Modify
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective:
- Immediately upon posting for non-material changes
- 30 days after notice for material changes affecting your rights
9.2 Notification
We will notify you of material changes via:
- Email to your registered address
- Prominent notice on the platform
9.3 Continued Use = Acceptance
Your continued use of ARGUS after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the platform and cancel your subscription.
10. PRIVACY & DATA HANDLING
Your use of ARGUS is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Key points are summarized here:
- Minimal collection: We collect only what is necessary to operate the platform — primarily your email address and account status.
- No data selling: We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties for advertising or commercial purposes.
- No raw payment data: Payment processing is handled exclusively by Stripe. We never receive or store your card number, CVV, or other payment credentials.
- Infrastructure processors: Supabase (database and authentication) and Netlify (hosting and serverless functions) process data on our behalf under their respective privacy agreements.
- Intelligence data caching: ARGUS caches data from external intelligence sources (GDELT, NOAA, ACLED, etc.) in our database to reduce upstream API load. This cached data is not personal information.
- Your rights: Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your account data. Contact us to exercise these rights.

11. GOVERNING LAW & DISPUTES
11.1 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of [YOUR STATE], without regard to conflict of law principles.
